Puppycat Helmet

September 2022

1982 AGV X-3000 motorcycle helmet, acrylic paint, ribbon

I bought this helmet secondhand to try to convince my friend Marsh to wear a helmet while biking around Columbus but the protective padding smelled horrendous so I ripped that out and painted it anyways. I could replace the padding but this helmet being around 4 decades old I will keep this as a display piece for now. The display part being that I painted it to resemble the "2 cute 2 Poot" helmet worn by Puppycat in the 2014 release of Bee and Puppycat by Natasha Allegri.

Dusk keyboard

September 2022

Razer Ornata Chroma keyboard, spray paint, English keyboard stickers, acrylic paint pen, clear varnish

The universe bestowed a filthy Razer Ornata Chroma keyboard that had been abandoned by its owner. I cleaned the keyboard and decided to learn how to spray paint and lear how to paint plastic. Apologies to my neighbors subjected to my pajamas podcasts and constant spray paint rattling for a month. I used stickers for some of the wordier keys that needed to be legible but I hand lettered the rest. My friend Jackie did the "`~" key and genuinely this whole website. She is magic.

Eyeball Bouquet

October 2022

polymer clay, enamel paint, clear coat, e6000 glue, 7 inch polyester rose arrangement

I really love the genre of art that is "eyeballs in places they shouldn't be" but I also clearly love DIY so instead of buying halloween decorations I will make my own and keep them up year round. The eyes are polymer clay orbs with the irises painted on with enamel paint and clear coated. They are glued to the centers of the fake roses and stay on my coffee table to vibe check guests.

Candy cHorns

October 2022

canvas panel, acrylic paint

Candy cHorns. Get it? Like k / horn! Candy cHorn! Anyways I purchased some custom resin horns from an Etsy seller and I just did not vibe with the resulting product so the halloween spirit took control. I sanded and prepped with mineral oil and a coat of gesso. Then I airbrushed the orange and yellow acrylic bands finishing with a matte varnish and a coat of UV resin. Later adhered the candy c-Horns to barrettes with UV resin.
